In support of Taoyuan International Airport’s goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, and in alignment with the airport’s policy to electrify airside vehicles and ground support equipment (GSE), TIAS continues to modernize its ground support equipment and advance its low-carbon transition through concrete actions toward environmental sustainability.

Recently, TIAS introduced its newly procured electric belt loaders, with the first batch of eight units now undergoing final preparations and pre-operational training. Upon completion of all necessary inspections, the equipment will be officially deployed for ramp operations. Compared with conventional fuel-powered equipment, electric GSE helps reduce carbon emissions and air pollutants during operations, while also lowering noise levels and improving the overall ramp working environment.

In recent years, Taoyuan International Airport has actively promoted the electrification of airside vehicles and ground support equipment through various initiatives, including the gradual replacement of conventional fuel-powered vehicles, expansion of airside charging infrastructure, and implementation of energy-saving and carbon-reduction measures. As part of its phased sustainability goals, the airport aims to achieve a 50% electrification rate for airside operational vehicles by 2030, steadily progressing toward its net-zero emissions target for 2050.

As a key ground handling service partner at Taoyuan International Airport, TIAS will continue to support the airport’s sustainability initiatives by progressively introducing more energy-efficient, low-carbon, and electric ground support equipment. While maintaining operational safety, service quality, and efficiency, TIAS remains committed to minimizing the environmental impact of its ground handling operations.
